BACKPOST: A New Path

The class that Kin'Fuji was in had spent the day at Starfleet Academy exploring in the grounds. Their school thought it was a good idea to try to get them interested in a career in Starfleet. She was walking with a group of friends as the rest of their day was theirs. They were pissed that their teacher dropped a massive project on them. Which was due a few days after they got back to Tokyo.

She then spotted one of the boys from her school. The feelings her was throwing out was hitting her shields. She felt that he was lonely, and pissed off, angry with himself. She waved off her friends as she walked towards him. His back was turned towards her, and she walked too quietly for her own good. "Beautiful day, isn't it?" She asked him, when she was less than 5 feet from him.

Chris Hartley looked up, surprised that anyone was speaking to him. He looked around, making sure she was speaking to him. "Depends on how you mean," he said, not making eye contact. Of course, he knew who she was - everyone in the class knew Kin'Fuji, she was one of the most popular girls in the school. "Come to make fun of me like your friends?"

"Make fun of you? Why would I do that?" Kin'Fuji asked as she leaned forward with her hands behind her back. Her tails were dancing out behind her.

"I've heard your friends all laughing and pointing," Chris said. "Mocking me, making fun of me, just because none of you care of understand."

"That may be them, but that isn't me." Kin'Fuji said. "So, what is it that I don't understand?" She asked him

"Why do you care?" Chris asked, as he went back to looking at his PaDD.

"Kin, are you coming?" one of the girls from the school asked. "Don't worry about freak, he's just weird."

"He isn't a freak, and he isn't weird. He is really cute. So, I will catch up with you later." Kin'Fuji said with a odd smile.

Chris heard the words and tried to hide the blush. No, it had to be a joke, didn't it? He made some notes on his PaDD as he sat down.

Kin'Fuji watched her friends walking away as her own embarrassment mirrored the boys. She sighed heavily. "You... Um... Okay?" She asked as her nose had change colour, and one of her tails lightly thumbed the boy's side.

"I guess," Chris said, looking at his work. "I'm just... why the hell would you want to talk to me?" she asked, before feeling her tail against his side. "What the hell?"

Kin'Fuji quickly turned as she realized her tail hit him. "I'm so sorry." She said giving him a proper Japanese bow. "I... um..." Her nose just changed colour further. "I felt that you were lonely, and... well.... You're cute."

"Cute? You're the first to say that, and I'm really not," Chris said bitterly. "Lonely, pretty much a way of life. My parents are in Starfleet and aren't really around much."

"Sorry to hear that. Care for a friend?" Kin'Fuji said. "Judgement free, I guarantee it."

"You'd be the first friend," Chris said softly. "Hell, they'd be worse if they knew..." he stopped himself, looking down.

"Knew what?" Kin'Fuji said sitting down next to the boy. Then her tails start to comfort him by moving up and down his back. Her Empathic abilities told her that something was troubling him.

Chris gasped as he felt the tails. "What are you doing?" he asked, confused.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Kin'Fuji said as she grabbed her tails and held them to her chest. "They tend to do that when I am comforting someone. Namely only family and friends." She stated looking at her three tail tips. "Okay that isn't true, you’re the first they did that too." She said as her nosed changed colours. This caused her to bury her nose into the tails, but then looked at Chris with the bluest of eyes.

"What... what happened to your nose?" Chris asked, frowning, confused.

"I'm blushing." Kin'Fuji said lowly into her tails.

"That's how you blush?" Chris asked, confused. "I never knew that," he added. He sighed. "I just... I'm different from others."

"Yes, it is how I blush." She stated before un-burying her nose from her tails. "Different? How so? Are you not a full human?" She asked.

"Human? Yeah, I'm human," Chris said, sighing. "Just... not quite male," he finally said.

Kin'Fuji leaned in and sniffed at the boy. "You smell male to me." She said. "So how are you not quite male?"

"Because I don't want to be male!" Chris exclaimed. "I'm not meant to be, but here we are!"

"You don't want to be male?" Kin'Fuji asked quickly. Then something dawned on her. "You're transgender then?" She asked.

"You... you know what that means?" Chris asked, surprised. He didn't think anyone did.

"Well yeah. My mother is an Administration Nurse at the Hospital near my home." Kin'Fuji said. "I've already started to get the basics going thanks to my mom." She stated.

Chris looked at her. "I... well, you... you'll be great, I'm sure," he said softly. "I just... I never told anyone before. I didn't know how to."

Kin'Fuji ears twitched with a snap. "You just needed the right set of ears to talk to." She said as she let her tails go, which they went right back to running up and down Chris's back. "Now that is very odd."

"What is?" Chris asked, trying to ignore how amazing the tails felt.

"I think my tails really like you." Kin'Fuji stated. "So do you have any plans for the future?" She asked.

"I'm going to be an engineer. My Uncle, well, surrogate uncle, Bane Plase, he's a Starfleet Captain, and he kinda guided me three years ago, so I'm gonna be a Chief Engineer for his ship one day," Chris replied. "I just... I haven't even been able to tell him this yet, but I... I dunno, I feel a little lost, I guess."

"Tell him what?" Kin'Fuji asked as her tails continued to run up and down Chris' back.

"About wanting to be... Christina," Chris replied softly. "I just don't know what to do."

Kin'Fuji tilted her head to look at Chris. "So you are transgender then?" She said. "Have you thought about gender reassignment surgery, Christina? Until then you can dress as a girl. I can help with that."

Chris looked at her. "You... you will?" Chris asked, surprised. "Why would... why would you want to help me? You just met me," Chris replied.

Her nose and ears started to turn colors. "I do find you cute, and... well... um... I like you." Kin'Fuji said.

"You like me? You... well, I... I like you too," Chris said, with a small smile and blush. "I... okay, I can't wait to try this now, the whole... being me."

"So am I." Kin'Fuji said before she just kissed Chris.

Chris's eyes widened as he looked at her after the kiss. "I... um..." he started, blushing deeply.

Kin'Fuji's nose and ears changed colors as she blushed. "I... um... I am sorry if I was too forward."

"No... no, it's okay, I just wasn't expecting it," Chris replied. "I think they're calling us, we should head to the group and get ready to head home."

"Yeah lets go." Kin'Fuji said standing and holding her hand out to Chris.

Chris smiled and accepted Kin's hand, heading off with her back towards the school group.

The day seemed to drag for Chris until finally they were entering Kin's house. His parents had left a message for Chris, letting him know that they'd be late and he'd be able to use the babysitter holo program if he needed to. Of course, he always overwrote the program; Computers was a specialty of his, as was martial arts. "Wow... you have an amazing home," Chris complimented.

"Thank you." Kin'Fuji said. She lived in a typical Japanese home, but with a family whose have feet that can't handle traditional foot covers, they used many throw rugs. "Please take your shoes off." She asked as she stepped into sterilizer pan.

She lead then to her room. Kin'Fuji's room was decorated with some posters of very popular bands, but it held a simple desk, but everything else was built into the walls, like the closet and drawers. She went into the closet and pulled out a box. "Here we go." She said. "Shall we start with the panties and bra, or do you just want to try on some of my dresses?" She asked as her tails wagged back and forth.

Chris looked around at the place. "It's... wait, what?" he asked. "I... I don't know. What... what should I do?" he asked nervously.

"Well we don't have to get you dressed like a girl, if you don't want to." Kin'Fuji said looking a bit embarrassed.

"No, I... I want to. This is... I never... I've not done this before," Chris confessed.

"I understand that." Kin'Fuji said with a smile. "Now if you want to do the bra and panties...." Her nose changed color again. "You will need to strip.... But I would strip too, to make you more comfortable." She stated.

"You... you don't need to do that," Chris replied, blushing.

"I prefer to be in my fur suit." Kin'Fuji said. "If we start dating then you will see me naked at some point, so why not get the awkwardness taken care of right now."

Chris nodded. "Okay," Chris agreed, nodding. It wasn't too long before Chris was wearing the bra and panties. "This feels... right..." Chris said, with a small smile.

Kin'Fuji was standing there naked as she pondered something. "I'll be right back." She said as she bolted out her bedroom door. A few moments later she came bouncing back in. "These should fill out that bra better." She said as she inserted the fake breasts into place. "How does that feel?"

Chris smiled, looking down at them. "They feel amazing," Chris said, feeling them. "I... I feel better than I have in ages."

"Great." Kin'Fuji said with a grin. She then turned and went into her closet looking for the right dress. "You know I used my own bust measurements to make those, since the bra was more tailored for me." She explained as she pulled out a purple dress. "How do you like this one?" She ask turned towards Chris.

Chris accepted the dress, and smiled. "I like it," Chris said, pulling on the dress. She smiled happily, loving the feel of it. "I feel like... Christina... like who I'm meant to be," she said, accepting her true self at long last.

"You are missing two things." Kin'Fuji said tilting her head slightly, while looking at Christina.

"What's that?" Christina asked, looking at Kin.

"Long hair and makeup." Kin'Fuji said with a grin. "I can handle both." She said before heading out of her bedroom. She returned a few moments later with a long hair wig in her hands. "I got a makeup kit in my bathroom." She stated. "I'll take it out once we get your hair together."

Christina nodded, smiling as she put the wig on. "How do I look?" she asked.

"You look so much better with long hair." Kin'Fuji said with a smile. "Let me get the makeup."

"I feel so amazing," Christina giggled, as she did a twirl in the dress, loving how she looked in the mirror.

"You look so good." Kin'Fuji said with a happy grin.

"Thanks to you helping me," Christina said happily. "Okay, I'm ready for the make up," she added.

"Alright." Kin'Fuji said as she bounced off to get to get the makeup kit. Then she returned. "I am not going heavy with the makeup."

"I trust you," Christina said, smiling.

"That means so much for me love." Kin'Fuji said as she got started with Christina's make up.

Christina smiled as she sat down, loving the feeling of Kin doing her make up. "I just... I never thought I'd feel this free," she said, trying to make her voice less masculine.

"I wish there was something I could do about your voice." Kin'Fuji said. "But sadly that is beyond my scope of abilities at this time."

"I might be able to do something. I'm an engineer, and I've... well, I'm decent at it," Christina replied, with a small smile.

"Okay." Kin'Fuji said. "Perhaps a choker or a necklace can be used as a type of voice altering device." She stated.

Christina nodded. "I was thinking the same thing. I've been designing one, but I'm struggling a bit," she admitted.

"Anything I can do to help? I am no engineer, but I know a few things about Medical." Kin'Fuji asked as her tails started to play with Christina's back as she got closer to her.

"I'll get the schematics as soon as I can," Christina replied. She smiled. "That feels nice, what your tails are doing," she said.

"My tails really like you, and so do I love." Kin'Fuji said.

Christina blushed. "I... I really like you too," she agreed.

Kin'Fuji went on with applying the makeup. Her tails continued to play upon Christina's back, but she also started to sing lowly to herself as she worked.

Christina couldn't help but smile at the sound of Kin's singing. "You sing beautifully," she said, carefully so she didn't make Kin'Fuji smudge her makeup.

"Thank you." Kin'Fuji said. "And done." She added. "Besides I love to sing and play my instruments."

"What do you play?" Christina asked, before gasping as she saw herself in the mirror. "Is... is that me?"

"Yes it is." Kin'Fuji said with a smile. "And you are just gorgeous."

Christina blushed at hearing that. "You... you think so?" she asked nervously.

"I do." Kin'Fuji said. "Um... Christina can we be um..." Her nose changed color as she was trying to ask to be her girlfriend.

Christina looked at her, before pressing her lips against Kin's, hoping she was reading the situation right.

Kin'Fuji's tails stood straight out and fluffed, before they wrapped themselves around Christina as she melted into the kiss. Once the kiss was over. "I take that is a yes on dating and being girlfriends?" She asked almost timidly.

Christina nodded. "Definitely," she agreed, smiling.

Kin'Fuji grinned. "I think my parents are going to be shocked that I have such a gorgeous girl as my girlfriend."

Christina blushed. "You think... they'll accept me?" she asked.

"I think they will." Kin'Fuji said with a grin. "They are very open minded about things."

Christina smiled at Kin'Fuji. "You really are amazing. I owe you so much," Christina said, as her wrist communicator beeped, indicating that her parents had just come into range. "Oh no... my parents... they know I'm not at home," she said. "They're here!" she added, as the door bell rang.

"Is this a bad thing?" Kin'Fuji said as she moved to grab her kimono, and proceeded to get dressed.

"I... I dunno... I mean... I just... I'm..." Christina stammered, swallowing nervously. "I'm just... I... I don't..."

"Nervous. I know." Kin'Fuji said. "Wait here and I will see to them." She stated heading for the front door.

At the door, a middle aged man and woman stood there, and smiled at Kin. "Excuse me, young lady, we're looking for our son, Chris? We found he wasn't at home, and we tracked him here," the woman, Amanda, asked.

Kin'Fuji's tails fluffed as she was nervous now. "Yes, she came over after school."

"We were concerned. Chris has a habit of sneaking away when he thinks we don't notice," the man, William, said, looking at her.

Amanda gently elbowed William in the chest. "Do you ever listen?" Amanda teased. William smirked.

"Yes, I heard what the young lady said," William commented. "Okay, let me rephrase: is our daughter here?" he asked, still smiling as Christina came into view.

"You... you knew?" Christina asked. Amanda gave her a loving smile.

"We suspected, but we knew we couldn't push you to come out. If we did, you'd hide even deeper. But we're your parents, and we love you, and we know everything about you," Amanda said. Christina began to sob as she ran to her parents, hugging them.

Kin'Fuji just looked at everyone a bit confused. "I guess that is one way to come out to your parents."

Amanda looked at Kin'Fuji. "Parents know everything about their children, I'm sure your parents know all about you. I'm Amanda, this is William, and I'm Chris's mother," she said. "Thank you, for helping her today."

"Not everything." Kin'Fuji said with a goofy grin. "It took a little bit to drag it out of Christina." She said as her tails snake their way around Christina's waist.

Christina smiled softly. "Mom, this is Kin'Fuji, she's my girlfriend," Christina introduced them.

"An absolute pleasure," William said, smiling at her. "Can we all sit down? I've been working all day at the shipyards, I need a rest."

"Oh damn. I forgot my manners." Kin'Fuji said. "Please come on in and have a seat." She stated. "Want something to drink?"

"Lemonade please, if you have it," William said.

"Coffee, black, for me," Amanda said, as they walked into the house. "I have to admit, you did have us worried, Christina."

"S... sorry," Christina sniffed, smiling as she was being called her real name.

"It's okay, I'm just glad you feel better now," Amanda said, kissing her forehead.

Kin'Fuji went on for the drinks from the replicator and returned. When she returned, she didn't realize that her kimono had opened enough to show that she wasn't dressed under it. "Christina, do you want something?"

"Yes please," Christina said, smiling. "I'll have a lemonade as well," she said, before seeing her legs. She stood up and whispered into Kin's ear, letting her know about the robe.

"Well I am kind of a nudist." Kin'Fuji whispered back as she closed her kimono, because she felt how uncomfortable Christina's parents where. "Sorry." She said to the pair. "I'll get your drink Christina." She stated before kissing her cheek and heading back to the replicator.

"So... I'm sorry I never said anything. I wasn't... wasn't sure how to," Christina said.

"We get it sweetie, it's not an easy thing to either understand or come out as. As much as I hate to say it, there are still bigots, even on Earth, and we both understand," William said.

"The important thing is that you are comfortable and happy, and we wanted you to tell us when you were ready. We love you, and that'll never change," Amanda promised, as the front door opened.

A silver Vixen with twin tails walked in the front door. She cocked an eyebrow at the people in her living room. She was dressed in scrubs. "Um... Can I help you?"

"Hey mom." Kin'Fuji said as she walked out of the kitchen.

"Kin, what..." She was going to ask, but Kin'Fuji cut her off.

"This is Christina, my girlfriend, and this is her mom and dad." She said. "This is my mom, M'Kress."

"Girlfriend?" M'Kress asked briefly. "Pardon me, let me get changed out of my work clothes." She stated.

"Of course. I'm Amanda, and this is my husband, William," Amanda said, by way of introduction.

"A pleasure." She said before slipping off and returning a few moments later. "I am sorry about that, I wasn't expecting company." She smiled as she took her own seat. Kin'Fuji returned with a drink for her mother before sitting down. "Amanda and William?" She repeated. "Have our children gotten into trouble on their field trip to Starfleet Academy?"

"Oh, no, not at all," Amanda said, smiling. "No, we came here looking for Christina. She wasn't at home, and we found her here," she explained, before explaining about Christina coming out and everything they'd learnt. "To be honest, I'm thankful for what your daughter has done today, to help Christina."

Kin'Fuji's nose changed colors. "I only was there and loaned her some of my clothes." She said.

"She felt comfortable with you, and you helped her to find the confidence to come out as being herself. That's something we couldn't do, and it shows how much you care," Amanda pointed out.

Kin'Fuji nose only shifted color more, and it went up to her ears. "I found her really cute." She fidgeted in her seat at three sets of adults eyes on her. Her tails reached out and wrapped around Christina's waist.

M'Kress chuckled. "Well, the tails tell all." She said looking at Amanda. "They may be young, but they are going to date, wither we try to stop them." She stated. "Kin, I'm got into get you to the doctor tomorrow." She added.

"For what?" Kin'Fuji asked her mother a bit confused.

"Birth control." M'Kress said simply.

Kin'Fuji yelped in surprise at her mothers declaration.

"So Amanda, William, aren't they just so cute together?" M'Kress asked the pair.

"That they are," Amanda agreed, laughing as Christina blushed and tried to bury her head. "It's always nice when two people find each other, even if they are only teenagers."

'Ah yes, true love." M'kress said picking on the two. "We know that the two of them will always be together." She stated. "Now how is Christina going to handle school? As a boy, or as a girl."

"I... I want to stay like this," Christina said. Amanda nodded.

"I'll speak to the school and explain the situation," Amanda said. "There shouldn't be a problem, I hope."

"It shouldn't, but if they give you any problems let me know." M'kress said. "I know a few people within the School Administration." She said. "Now the question stands for you Christina? Do you want to be a crossdressing boy, or have a full transition to a girl?" She asked.

"I... I want to fully transition," Christina replied meekly, looking down at the floor still, clearly nervous.

"No need to be so meek or nervous." M'kress said. "We are not judging you but want to help you. So, you will need to start taking hormones, before you can started to transition surgeries." She pointed out. "Now another important question. Do you want children in the future?"

Christina's eyes widened. "I... um... I don't know... I mean... I'm 13!" she exclaimed, as William starting making notes on a PaDD he held.

"M'kress, might I trouble you for use of your replicator?" William asked, showing her the PaDD which held the design of a voice modulator for Christina that he had quickly designed.

"Go ahead." M'kress said with a smile. "I know you are thirteen." She added to Christina. "Sadly you wont be able to start hormones, until you turn sixteen. One side effect of the hormones, is that you become sterile. So if you want children, then you can have your sperm put into cold storage." She explained.

"Mom!" Kin'Fuji said every shade of embarrassed. "Stop embarrassing me and my girlfriend." She said as her mother chuckled. "I know I want children, but I don't want to think about that until I am older." She said before she put her forehead upon Christina's shoulder.

William and Amanda laughed as William went to the replicator, inputting the replicator code. "Well, we're just trying to help you plan things. There's so much you need to understand now you've taken the first step," William said, replicating the device, in the form of a locket.

He went over to Christina, programming the device quickly with his PaDD. One thing he was very good at was engineering, and he had been teaching Christina everything. "I've just whipped up this design. I'll be able to improve on it, no doubt, but for now, try this on," he said.

Christina put it on, feeling a strange warmth. "What does it do?" she asked, before gasping. Her voice was now feminine, and as her eyes widened, she smiled.

"Dad, you... you're a genius!" Christina exclaimed, hugging him tightly.

"I never get tired of hearing that," William teased, hugging Christina.

"Oh goddess, I love the voice." Kin'Fuji said fidgeting in her seat.

"Well it seems that Christina's new voice just got her girlfriends seal of approval." M'kress said cocking an eyebrow at her daughter. "So would you all like to stay for dinner?" She finally asked.

William and Amanda looked at one another. "That would be lovely, although we do have three other kids at home. Why don't you come round to ours? I can fire up the grill, have a barbeque," William offered. Amanda smirked, rolling her eyes.

"He's been waiting for an excuse to use that thing. He built it himself," Amanda explained.

"That sound lovely." M'kress said. "Let me contact my husband and let him know." She said getting up. "It sounds perfect. I'm sure that that design would make many other transgender kids very happy if they could get one themselves."

"Well, that was just a quick job. I'll make a better one tonight," William commented.

"You and your tinkering, dear," Amanda smiled as she commented. "It's one of the reasons why I fell in love with him, he wants to make anything he can to make everyone's life better."

"I am surprised that he isn't working on the Atlantis Project." M'kress said as she sent the message off to her husband. Then she looked at her daughter. "Kin'Fuji you should go and get dressed." Then she smiled. "Also get your girlfriend a sash, to cover the tail hole on the back of the dress."

Kin'Fuji sat straight up as her nose and ears changed color. She hadn't thought of that, because she was just basking in the pure empathic happiness coming off of Christina.

"Go on, take her with you to pick a nice one." M'kress said looking at the pair with an amused look.

Amanda smiled as the two went up the stairs. "I'm just glad Christina was finally able to open up. We've known about this for a few months, but... well, we wanted to give her time to come to us, rather than us tell her we knew. It's difficult, making the right choices sometimes, isn't it?" Amanda asked softly.

"She was afraid on how you would react." M'kress said as her twin tails danced behind her. "Now with everything out on the table, she is much happier with her choice." She added. "Now is it me or are they both totally smitten with each other?"

"Oh, it's not just you," Amanda smiled. "Young love, isn't it sweet?"

"That it is." M'kress said with a chuckle. "So how long do you think before they will start having sex?" She asked Christina's parents.

William coughed in shock as Amanda giggled. "I... I hope not for some time," he said.

"William, they're going through puberty... oh crap, we need to get Christina to medical when we can, and get her on Puberty blockers," Amanda realized.

"I know a few doctors that could take on Christina." M'kress said. "I work as a Medical Administrator at the local hospital."

"That would be very much appreciated," Amanda said, smiling at M'kress. "It's so kind of you to accept her and help her like this."

"I like the feeling of the happiness of the people around me, especially my daughter." M'kress said with a smile. "Besides I only wish the best for my daughter, and if Christina makes her this happen. Then I will encourage her and help where I can. So with Christina happy, it makes my daughter happy."

"Makes sense to me," William said, smiling at the woman. "It's just nice to see Christina smile, we haven't seen her smile for a while," he said softly. "I was starting to worry that we weren't doing this right."

"I understand how you feel." M'kress said. "Kin'Fuji is my one child, but I come from a huge family. So I feel that I have failed sometimes too."

"Why? You have an amazing daughter, and honestly, that's something to be very proud of," Amanda said.

"I'll beam home and start setting up the grill," William said, kissing his wife. "I'll see you all soon," he added, before heading out. Amanda smiled.

"He's not one for mushy talk," Amanda said. "I love him to bits, but he can be a typical man sometimes."

"I can understand. My husband always let me handle the womanly issues with our daughter." M'kress said.

"No offense to men, but some things always require a mother's touch. Still, you clearly did an excellent job raising Kin'Fuji, she's a kind young woman, and Christina seems very smitten," Amanda said, smiling as she finished her drink.

"Now I am sure that even you are out of your element with Christina being transgender." M'kress said. "But I will help you through this."

"I appreciate that," Amanda said. "I just... I know I've got a lot to learn about the whole thing."

"We all do." M'kress said. "Especially if our daughters are going to date and perhaps marry one day."

"Agreed," Amanda said. "I'm glad Christina has met someone so nice as your daughter, and having met you, I can see why Kin'Fuji is so sweet," she complimented.

"Thank you." M'kress said with a goofy grin. "From what little I know of Christina, she seems to be upstanding herself."

"Well, we've done the best we can. She's spent a lot of time alone, but she's always been polite and sweet. I'm lucky to have her as a daughter," Amanda said, returning the grin.

"So now all we can do is sit back, and watch them grow as a couple." M'kress said. "And, of course, plan the wedding."

"Oh, I'll be able to finally give my wedding dress to my daughter. My other two kids are sons, and they're good boys, but I did always want a daughter," Amanda said, smiling.

"And now you have one." M'kress said. "So how are your sons going to react?"

"Well, one is five, so that won't be an issue. The other is seventeen, and we taught him tolerance of everyone, so it shouldn't be a problem," Amanda replied. "Her cousins might cause trouble, my sister didn't raise them well, and frankly, they're brats."

"Well that side of your family is going to need to be watched for sure." M'Kress said. "So what kind of dish should we bring for the Barbecue?"

"Oh, anything you like, I mean, I can make a decent potato salad, William will have a selection of meats ready, he's had them in stasis, just waiting for a chance to use the damned thing," Amanda laughed.

Amanda smiled again, thankful that Christina had met this young woman and her family. She knew Christina hadn't been happy at all for some time, and finally, maybe she could find some kind of peace.
