Mission:
Stranded
Location: Earth - Spacedock - Quarters
Timeline: 2387
Today....[sigh]..... has been..... VERY interesting.
First contact communication with an Alien light being. A baby bright light when first met, an older teen/woman when she left. It was an experience that I do not want to repeat any time soon.
She did not know that her evolution would hit me and trap her inside me. She first panicked but she soon learnt how to communicate through using my knowledge. She was so intrigued by everything that I knew but we needed to start with the basics but she just wanted to learn anything and everything. I helped her learn English, Klingon....did she learn my fighting styles? I made it possible for her to learn without having to make me go through all the learning myself.
Being stuck in my own mind and body was.....difficult....I couldn't communicate that I was ok to the outside.
This is adhoc.........
What did I start teaching her?.....English, so we could communicate. I started with the basics but then went onto advanced English.
Then..........Introductions. I introduced myself and explained why we do introductions. This is where I gave her the name, Rhinnaya.
Then......... [sigh] I asked what she wanted. She shrugged. She didn't know. At this stage of her life, she wanted to play more than anything....mind of a child, but growing quite quickly. I created playing blocks and other toddler toys. I played with her for what seemed forever and asked her again.
"What do you want?" She spelt LEARN.
"Learn what?" Rhinnaya spelt EVERYTHING.
I used my abilities to show my life from birth.
Looking around damp, drab, abandon-looking somewhere. Being held by a guy, wrapped in something soft....really soft. She stopped wriggling and snuggled into the towel and grabbed hold of the finger floating above her. The guy laughed, "She's a fiesty one! Not surprised given her mother!"
The woman smiled.
Rhinnaya watched the memory as it played. She "touched" the images......"Mom." Pointing at the woman sat on the floor.
"Yes, Mom." I said. "My Mom." She pointed at the man holding baby me. "Dad," she said.
"I wish. No, my dad....." I trailed off. I skipped the memories forward, away from that event but Rhinnaya took my mind back to it. "NO! Rhinnaya!" I shouted. "Do not do that again! It is not okay to do such a thing."
After a while, Rhinnaya toddled over to me and leaned over, lifting her arms up over my shoulders, hugged me and said "We do together."
I'd let Rhinnaya into apart of my mind and feelings that I had let no-one near before, Not even Dr Mattius. "No, I am not ready. Please do not push the issue."
She was learning fast and communicating like any primary school aged child would. Her various abilities were showing and growing fast as well.
She went to expand the memory I had just shown her so that we were apart of it. "Rhinnaya, I said 'No'!"
Rhinnaya looked at me confused. "It....is.....a.......hard memory for me to relive. I am not just human. I am also known as a species called Betazoid. I can hear other people's thoughts and feelings. When this happened and I was in my mother's womb, I could hear my mother's thoughts and feel everything that my mother felt. I do not want to relive it again. Not yet," I told Rhinnaya sternly but softly.
Rhinnaya toddled over to me. As she did, she grew up to about the age of 10/11. "I think I understand but I also see so much love." Rhinnaya said, as she hugged me. "I also see so much pain in you due to your past."
"Being telepathic and empathic, I felt all the feelings my mother felt...the pain, the sadness...the emotional hurt that she should not have had to feel. I heard her every thought....calling 'him' every name under the sun, calling for her mother, but no-one came to help until Admiral Roberts." I said, tiredly. "I should be more broken than I am. I should be in a Mental Hospital not a Starfleet Officer...Hell, Delenna Swann and Admiral Roberts would be pissed if they heard me say that!"
Delenna smiled at the thought as she dictated the report to the computer. "So many good memories" she muttered. She looked back at what was already written and continued.
"As i write this report now, I smiled then at my words. Rhinnaya listening and hugging me. I picked her up and put my arms around her. "Family love is meant to be unconditional love. No matter what one member may do, you are to love them unconditionally." Pausing for a few. "Personally I think that is bull. If you go through an unforgivable experience with family, they can still be family but you do not have to love them unconditionally."
I asked Rhinnaya what she wanted to learn next but she didn't answer as she just curled up into a ball. I suggested she leave my body to regenerate and she took the suggestion.
That's when I woke up in Sickbay to chaos.
