Mission:
The Festival of Unity
Location: Hanger Bay 3
Timeline: TBC
Caj had been assigned to the USS Cygnus and with that transfer he had travelled with a large personal item to the station that now needed to get pass customs but also the ships customs
It was registered, but it had a biological component and needed to be cleared by operations as it was brought out of its large storage crate. It was a Tellerite Organ. A very large musical instrument that was, part church organ, part coral reef and what looked like part steam engine. Caj needed it transferred to his quarters. Though he was not sure how it would fit in it. But he was getting ahead of himself. The whole thing needed to be scanned by tricorder from a security officer, so he could have the all clear. Caj was now waiting by his crate for a operations officer.
Issues in the Cargo Bay, while under the purview of Operations, were not normally handled by the Chief of that department. Instead, he/she placed an implicit faith in the Cargo Bay staff that they would adhere to both the letter and the spirit of Starfleet cargo policies. But, seeing their Chief out there on the trenches and doing the same work as everyone else also gave a helpful boost to department morale; so, when Operations was called to the Cargo Bay for a potential issue with an incoming crew member's personal belongings, Stoved decided to handle said issue himself.
The Vucan entered the Cargo Bay, walking in swift staccato steps and focused like a laser on the PADD in his hand. He halted his approach when he reached a two plus meter tall container near the center of the Bay.
"Mister Lagnas," he said flatly, not looking up from the PADD. "I understand you have cargo that needs checking in. I am Stovek, Chief of Operations and Second Officer. Welcome to the Cygnus, Ensign."
"Sir" said Cajag, instantly moving from relaxed casual, as he had been expecting a crewman or junior officer, to smart and straight stance. "Yes sir. A personal item Sir."
“As you were, Mister Lagnas,” said Stovek calmly. “I do not stand on ceremony, at least when not on the bridge.” The blonde Vulcan reached for the holster on his belt and produced a Mark XXIV tricorder, the latest generation of scanning device produced by Starfleet. With a single fluid motion, he flipped the scanner open. “Tell me about your cargo please.”
"Well Sir its a it's was a Tellerite Organ. A very large musical instrument that looks kinda of part church organ, part coral reef and part steam engine. Its a hobby sir."
“Part coral reef?” asked Stovek, examining the tricorder readings in greater detail. “I must say that is quite…unexpected. And fascinating.” He paused for a moment and examined the readings. “Bottom line, does this pose any danger to the crew?”
"Only the noise to my neighbours sir" said the trill with a laugh. "No it should be fine. It’s been through several transporters that would have bio cleared it and it’s been fed recently." Said Caj with a smile. He nodded politely and thanked the chief of security as he stamped the appropriate data slate with his thumb
